HOW TO SLEEP IN THE SNOWHOTEL
PREPARATION
âDon`t have too much to drink at dinner, so you don`t have to get out of the warm sleeping bag to go to the toilet during the night. A small nightcap in the Icebar is enough, and also helps you acclimatize.
If you want a shower, do it before dinner, not right before you go to sleep – then you will keep warmer.
â
Save sauna for next morning.
CLOTHING
Our sleeping bags are good for -25° and covers almost all of your body, so the most important thing is to protect the head.
Lesson number 2, DO NOT wear too much clothes.
It will make you sweat, and then ultimately cold.
Recommended wear:
-
Balaclava
-
Woollen socks.
-
Thermal underwear, woollen, only one layer, not too thick.
-
Do not wear shoes to bed.
GETTING READY
When you undress, bring clothes you may need in the morning or during the night with you in the sleeping bag, like pants or a sweater.
Leave the shoes by the bed – you will need them in the morning or if you need to go to the toilet at night.
Outerwear you may leave inside the service building, and valuables in the lockers.
TO BED
Get into your sleeping bed, pull the zipper up to make it airtight.
Move a little bit around to get it warm.
Now you are ready to sleep like a baby.
Watch our movie on how to survive a night in the Snowhotel!
HOW TO DRESS IN THE ARCTIC
Even though we dress our excursion guests in warm and protective clothing, you should always pack warm winter clothes.
Always wear several layers of warm clothing for the cold winter days.
â
â
Long underwear and socks in woolen or technical fabric
Thick jumper in wool or fleece, scarf, woolen socks and lined trousers, in windproof material
1. Woolen hat
2. winter jacket (e.g. down)
3. Gloves or mittens
4. Winter shoes.
â
Remember that over 50% of heat is lost from the top of your head! So even if your toes are freezing, it helps putting on a hat.
