The Dogyard

Although we may boast of many wonders, we dare claim that our 180 alaskan huskies are our greatest treasure. They are both hard working in winter, driving our guests through the beautiful, white tundras of Finnmark, as well as great companions for our guests during the summer season.

The Dogyard

The tale of our huskies started modestly, but ambitiously in the winter of 2007, with merely 20 dogs.

Situated in the border triangle of Norway, Finland and Russia in the easternmost part of the Siberian Taiga, we have built brick by brick, year by year, and now we have one of the largest husky kennels in Norway.

No matter the season, they are always playful, cheerful, well socialized and happy when they get some attention from our guests.

In fact happy and healthy dogs are our most important concern!

For this reason, they get the best possible attention, care and training.

We have highly skilled dog trainers socializing our puppies so that they learn good behaviour right from the start.

The people working and training our dogs have more than a normal interest in dogs and provide them with the affectionate care that they need.

Our dogs are the athletes amongst all dog breeds, eager to run all day long. Winter time is their favorite season and when the northern lights are dancing in the sky on a chilly winter night, they can hardly be stopped from running.

In summer time, when it is too warm to run, they like to chill out and relax after the hectic winter season. Nevertheless, they enjoy going for a walk with tourists or just playing in one of our freeyards. Now we even have wagons so you can go for a ride, on the cooler summer days.

When autumn is coming, we start training our dogs for the winter season.  After a long and lazy summer, they can`t wait starting to run again.

If you love dogs, our dogyard is an attraction itself in the Snowhotel camp.  Here you can meet and greet our dogs and mushers, not to mention play with our puppies. Even if you haven`t booked a sled ride or a hike, you can end up spending hours here.

See you soon!
